Endless Summer Hydrangea

Carroll Gardens top selling plant in both 2004 and 2005, Endless Summer Hydrangea recaptures the feeling of a never-ending summer with ‘Endless Summer’, the first Hydrangea macrophylla that blooms on both old and new wood for repeat-blooming color all summer long. In addition to repeat blooms, ‘Endless Summer’ Hydrangea is unusually hardy, even in Zone 4 climates (its from Minnesota!). It produces big, showy flower mops – clear pink blooms in alkaline soils and blue blooms in acid soils. Makes an excellent choice for foundation, specimen and shrub or perennial borders.

Blushing Bride Hydrangea

Blushing Bride Hydrangea, the newest repeat blooming hydrangea addition, is an Endless Summer derivative introduced by Baileys Nurseries. ‘Blushing Bride.' was bred from Endless summer by Dr. Michael Dirr, our nation's preeminent woody plant authority. The blooms produced by 'Blushing Bride' are pure white, maturing to a blush pink or blue, depending upon your soil acidity. It has glossy, deep green foliage. 'Blushing Bride' has even faster re-bloom that its parent, Endless Summer. In addition to repeat blooms, 'Blushing Bride' hydrangea is unusually hardy, at least through in Zone 5.

Hydrangea Forever & Ever

Hydrangea Forever & Ever appears to have all of the qualities of the Endless Summer Hydrangea that gardeners have fallen in love with. It blooms repeatedly on both old and new wood, ensuring that your hydrangea will be covered in beautiful blooms throughout the season - and it has proven reliably winter hardy to Zone 4 (minus 30 degrees); tested in Michigan. As with almost all other macrophylla hydrangeas, the color of the blooms is affected by the acidity of the soil.

Hydrangea Forever & Ever Double Pink

This beautiful new introduction comes from a Japanese breeder and is very floriferous and long- blooming. Like the widely popular Endless Summer Hydrangea, Forever and Ever Double Pink blooms on both old and new wood and blooms repeatedly throughout the season. Double Pink's unique multi-petalled flowers create a billowy mound of full 6 inch clusters that almost cover the plant when it blooms. The mounding habit reaches about 24-30" tall and grows to about 36" wide. Forever and Ever Double Pink's compact habit makes it perfect for containers or small gardens.

2. Carefully remove container: cut any encircling roots.

3. Roughen sides of root ball for better root penetration.

4. Center plant in hole, keeping it straight.

5. Set top of root ball slightly above ground level.

6. Backfill soil to 3/4 full. Water thoroughly.

7. Finish with soil; compact lightly, then water.

8. Add 2-3 inches of organic mulch, keeping away from base of plant.

9. Ample watering during the first couple of months is essential. Two inches of shredded tan bark mulch will help preserve soil moisture.

Site Selection
Hydrangeas prefers a moist soil (not wet) in a place with afternoon shade and morning sun. If you choose a dry spot with afternoon sun, the hydrangea will wilt and the blossoms will be short lived. If you choose a place that is wet and poorly drained, the hydrangea will eventually perish. If you are concerned that the spot you have chosen may be to dry, I suggest you add Soil Moist granules to the soil. In any event the soil should be amended with compost (1/2 soil, 1/2 compost).
