Most herbs grow best in full sun in a light, lean, well-drained soil. Avoid excessive fertilizer and water. Herbs have peak flavor and fragrance just before flower buds open; harvest on a cool, dry, sunny morning.
Sweet Bay Laurel -
Handsome, easy-to-grow
shrub or tree. In the North grow outdoors in summer and winter indoors.
While wintering indoors, keep cool and somewhat dry. Grows year-round in
the South where it can grow 10-12 feet tall and up to 10 feet in diameter.
Green leaves are 2-4 inches long and very aromatic. They are used both
fresh and dried in cookery to impart flavor. Zones 8-10. Shipped as
a 6" branched plant.
