Liquidambar (Fruitless American Sweetgum) - styraciflua Rotundiloba

Liquidambar (Fruitless American Sweetgum) - styraciflua Rotundiloba

Common Name: Fruitless American Sweetgum
Hardiness Zones: 6 7 8 9

Description: Stately, narrowly pyramidal shade tree that grows 900-1200 ft tall and 360" wide. The major drawback of most sweetgums are the prickly seed-balls of which L. s. Rotundiloba has none. This fruitless form is distinguished by founded lobes, rather than the normal pointed, star-shaped leaves. Mature growth boasts handsome greyish brown bark; young stems are often corky-ridged. Grows quickly in moist soil in full sun. Rarely bothered by pests or diseases. From 10 gallon pots.

Height: 1050"
