Common Name: Winter Daphne

Description: Terminal clusters of purple buds reveal silky, white blooms, washed with pink, that emit a powerful, lusty, lemony perfume in February and March. One of the most fragrant of all plants. Lustrous mountain laurel-like evergreen foliage on an upright, rounded shrub 36" tall and wide. Pinch out tips of young plants to encourage bushy growth. Otherwise, avoid pruning, except to remove dead growth. Resents transplanting, so choose the site carefully. Culture is the same as for D. b. Carol Mackie. From 1 gallon pots. Rated as Deer-Resistant.
