Clematis - durandii PROMO

Description: Rich indigo 4-5" deeply furrowed blooms with creamy stamens. Often used for cutting. Blooms prolifically for weeks and weeks in mid to late summer; one of the longest blooming clematis. A hybrid of two of the easiest-to-grow cultivars, integrifolia and Jackmanii. Can be allowed to scramble through shrubbery; especially nice combined with Lonicera fragrantissima. They are best rejuvenated with heavy pruning every two to three years. Prune back to the lowest strong leaf buds (9 to 18" above ground level) in late winter or early spring. These are the best varieties to use intermingled with roses or other shrubs that require frequent pruning. Ht. 6-10'.
