Description: Sheets of dainty, 1/2" bells of nonfading deep lavender blue, from late spring through early autumn, gracefully borne on 3" wiry stems. Sometimes referred to as "fairie's thimbles". In open ground, C.c. Bavarian Blue is a 1-2" high, slowly creeping mat of wee, dark green scalloped-edged leaves. It also flourishes in rock crevices, either walls or paving stones, or grows harmlessly among other low growing plants such as creeping thyme.
