A natural based lawn
food for dense, healthy turf, Turf-Tone is low in salts that can burn your
lawn. It provides a balanced mix of organics and inorganics that provides
rapid greening plus the steady, long term feeding turfgrasses need. It's
also a rich source of trace nutrients. Non-toxic, and safe for use around
children and pets. A 25 lb. bag feeds 5,000 square feet.
Directions are as
Follows:
ESTABLISHED TURF: Apply
Turf-tone at the rate of 5 lbs. per 1,000 square feet (225 lbs. per acre)
four times per year. See chart above for approximate spreader settings.
The best times to apply are in March, May, September and October (varies
according to region). Apply when the grass is dry. Although it is not
necessary, we recommend giving the lawn a good watering after applying.
This will make sure the plant food is in contact with the soil and will
provide the moisture necessary for activating the organic.
NEW TURF: Loosen the soil
by cultivating. Remove from the area to be seeded as much stone, wood and
miscellaneous debris as possible. Apply Turf-tone at double the rate (10
lbs. per 1,000 square feet) and cover with 1-2 inches of a natural humus
type material such as peat moss or peat humus. Work this mixture into the
top 4-5 inches of soil. Grade and level the area. Apply seed following the
supplier directions for sowing. Rake lightly to cover seed with a thin
layer of soil. Keep moist (do not soak) until seed has germinated. Then
follow a regular maintenance program.
DECIDUOUS TREES AND SHRUBS:
Feed twice yearlyearly Spring and late Fall.
TREES: Determine trunk
diameter by measuring at a point 4 feet above ground. Feed at rate of 1
lb. per inch if diameter is under 6 inches and 2 lbs. per inch if over 6
inches. Apply evenly under branch spread and slightly beyond or place in
holes spaced throughout same area. Holes should be 2-3 inches in diameter,
2-3 feet apart and 12-18 inches deep.
SHRUBS: Apply 3/4 cupful
for each foot of branch spread or 1/2 inch of trunk diameter. Spread
evenly under branch spread and slightly beyond. Feed beds at the rate of 1
lb. per 100 square feet. |
