Chesapeake GREEN is a superior compost
specifically formulated for use on lawns and flower beds where a safe organic
form of plant nutrients is desired. Blended from composted poultry litter, clam
shells and wood chips, Chesapeake GREEN is the ideal solution for thicker,
greener turf. Odorless as a result of the composting process, Chesapeake GREEN
also adds lime and should only be used where a neutral or sweeter pH is
recommended.
Directions for use:
Recommended usage is listed for good soil.
If your soil is sandy or thick with clay, you may want to use more than the
recommended amount.
LAWN ESTABLISHMENT: Use eight bags per
100 square feet of bare earth. Distribute evenly and mix or rototill to
an approximate depth of 4 to 6 inches. Rake the area smooth.
Seed or place sod on top of prepared soil. Water entire area.
EXISTING LAWNS: Use three bags per 100
square feet of lawn. Spread evenly and lightly rake to filter down
through grass blades. Dethatching, aerating or verticutting the lawn
prior to top dressing will enhance results. Water entire area.
FLOWER BEDS: Use 6 bags per 100 square
feet of prepared garden area. Mix with soil to a depth of 4 to 6 inches.
Chesapeake Green may be used in a soil where a neutral or sweeter soil pH is
desired.
This product is not recommended for acid-loving
plants.
Remember that Chesapeake Green is a stable
organic. You may use it liberally - it will not burn and there will be a
residual benefit from year to year.
