Chesapeake Blue -- Ship Direct To You

Chesapeake BLUE is a premium compost specifically formulated for use when planting vegetables, trees, shrubs, bulbs and flowers; any place where a safe organic form of plant nutrients is desired. Composted from crab shells and wood chips, Chesapeake BLUE is the ideal solution for healthier and stronger plants in your landscape. Odorless as a result of the composting process, Chesapeake BLUE improves soil structure, retains moisture and is weed free.

Directions for use:
Recommended usage is listed for good soil.  If your soil is sandy or thick with clay, you may want to use more than the recommended amount.

VEGETABLE GARDENS:
Before planting, spread 1/2 to 1 inch of Chesapeake Blue on garden area.  Till into soil 4 to 6 inches deep.  Use 20 lbs. to cover approximately 10 to 20 square feet.

FLOWER BEDS:
Annuals:  Before planting, spread 1/2 to 1 inch of Chesapeake Blue on bed area.  Till into soil 4 to 6 inches deep.  Use 20 lbs. to cover approximately 10 to 20 square feet.
Perennials:  Top dress bed with one inch of Chesapeake Blue.  Use 20 lbs. to cover approximately 10 to 20 square feet.

POTTED PLANTS:  When repotting, use 1 part Chesapeake Blue with 3 parts good potting soil.  If plants do not require repotting, they may be top dressed with 1 to 2 inches of Chesapeake Blue.

SHRUBS AND ORNAMENTAL TREES:  For new plantings, use Chesapeake Blue as a backfill in a 1:3 mixture with soil.  For existing plants, use Chesapeake Blue as a top dressing 1 inch deep on the area as defined by the dripline.  If a mulch is desired, it should be used on top of Chesapeake Blue.

BULBS:  When planting bulbs, use Chesapeake Blue as a backfill in a 1:3 mixture with soil.  Plant bulbs at recommended depth.  For existing bulb beds, use Chesapeake Blue as a topdressing 1 inch deep.

Remember that Chesapeake Blue is a stable organic.  You may use it liberally - it will not burn and there will be a residual benefit from year to year.
